[08 Jun 2005|06:43pm]

So you may or may not have heard, but Surefire has been playing without Justin lately. I'm not sure about when this happened, but I know Justin wasn't at their show at the Bowery on the 18th of last month (I think it was the 18...? Too lazy to check). Beyond that, though, I really haven't kept track. I'm starting to wonder whether or not he's still in the band. I thought the guy who played the drums when I saw them last week was just filling in, but now I'm not so sure. Now, does anybody here have any idea about what's going on? Various people (myself including) have asked the band, but no one seems to have gotten a clear answer... I really don't know what to make of what Ben told me -- I got the feeling that he implied Justin was just out temporarily, but somebody else who spoke to them about it interpreted what she heard from them differently. aaahhhh, I must know!

clarification, anybody?

By the way.... if you're worried, don't be. the band will be fine either way; I loved Justin as their drummer, but the guy who's playing drums for them now (whether this arrangement is temporary or permanent) is AMAZING. I mean seriously, you don't know until you've seen this guy in action. (Still, it bothers me that I don't know what exactly is going on with this band! arghh.)

Heyyyyyyyyyyy folks, long time no post :)

This is mainly for the people in the NYC area: we're looking for interest in flyering after local shows. Here's the deal, yo: flyers will be provided (as long as you can pick them up in the city), and the distributors of flyers will be flourished with such lavish rewards as buttons, stickers, and maybe even guestlist spots if you ask nicely enough (subject to availability, etc). I know that you all go to 28 shows per week, so just bring some flyers with your hipster self. Affiliation with Surefire totally adds scene-points. Keep in mind that flyers can be brought to non-venue locations as well.

For now, we are just looking for general interest, so please reply to this if you'd be interested in helping out. It's easy work with good perks for a good cause--not too shabby. Also, I forgot to mention in the email: Surefire is under new managament (they share a manager with The Stills), so everything is a bit more official now.

procrastinating summer HW.
There's also one on Sept 15 at Sin-e, but I don't know the story with age restrictions there.

How've y'all been? We have some good street team stuff planned, but it's been unfortunately delayed. Hopefully soon we'll have some action for ya :)

p.s. NEW PEOPLE! Introduce yourselves!

This place is dead =(
Doesn't anyone have any Surefire stories or anything?

[30 Jun 2004|10:20pm]

Happy Summer! My street team email seems to have failed, so I'll try that again after this post, even though it says basically the same thing...

(1) brand-new website layout -- i spent a few days re-doing the website, and i like how it turned out. check it: http://www.surefiresolution.com. and i'm open to suggestions for layout and content changes, as always.

(2) upcoming show -- Surefire is playing at Rothko, 3pm on July 11, all ages. those who enter to see Surefire get a free EP, which is a lovely little insentive that we can use to get people out there. the other bands are Elkland, The Bravery, and Hurry-Up Offensive. Ben made a nice little show flyerCollapse )

(3) message board promotion... i already made a Rooney thread and an Ambulance Ltd thread that i REALLY REALLY need people to bump, or the posts will die. people like posts with lots of replies... makes them more likely to click. also, threads on other boards that you're registered to would be fantastic.

thanks much,

hey surefire kids.

here's a little show flyer for y'allCollapse )

now, this show is BIG... their biggest to date, which means bigger and better than the Brendan Benson one. you may notice from the flyer that all of these rad bands are OPENING for Surefire... that's mighty cool. The Shore is great, and Rachael says that The Pleased is great as well, so you really can't go wrong here.

this show is 21+, but promo help from everybody would be awesome. if this show goes well, then Surefire has a good chance of moving on to the prestigious Bowery.
